27 Total Students
10 boys and 17 girls
Algebra One
Advanced 7th grade and On-level 8th grade.
Routines/Procedures:
I saw the teacher set up a bell ringer for the students to do some warm up problems to review from the day before. The teacher gave the students a few minutes before and after the bell rang to complete this. Then reviewed the answer and formulas to use. The teacher went over how to do the next step which introduced the lesson for the day.
Look and feel of the room:
The room is filled with posters that include positive statements. The room has two very large white dry erase boards. This gives plenty of room for students to practice problem solving.
Lesson:
The lesson was over greatest common factor and adding exponets. The teacher really broke it down in several ways so the students could choose which method was best for them.
Application:
I learned that it is okay to do something several different ways
